Rashmi Talpade and Kevin Van Aelst
October 14, 2015 - January 2, 2016Artists Reception November 14, 2015, 5 to 7 pm
Virtual Reality showcases work which portrays scenes from seemingly everyday life in such a way that the viewer can suspend belief and view a fascinating, but fictitious, world.
Kevin's artwork is intended to reconcile his physical surroundings with his fears, fascination, curiosities and daydreams. His photographs and constructions consist of common artifacts and materials, rearranged and reassembled into various forms, patterns and illustrations. Rashmi's photo collages explore history, humanity and our place in it by creating an imaginary world which, on first glance, looks real but is in fact fabricated fiction.
Both artists explore how photographs can function as more than a window into a time and place, but as also as a building block for the creation of something entirely new.
