Charles Jones + Karen Dow

Charles Jones: Turned
Karen Dow: New Work

June 12 - August 30, 2010

Opening Reception June 12, 2010, 5 to 8 pm

Charles Jones: Turned
Charles Jones’ large-scale, turned ceramic pieces take pottery out of its more familiar, utilitarian context and into the realm of architecture and landscape. The sensual shapes of his sculptures and the spiral motifs of his platters accentuate the blending of form, texture and color, creating works to live with.

Karen Dow: New Work
Karen Dow’s work uses the geometry of modern architecture and interior space to deconstruct furniture, rooms and people in a modulated color palette. Speaking to the underlying uncertainty of our current cultural climate, these paintings offer glimpses of life in the American Utopia, if only a fragment viewed through our own distorted prisms.
